Print and Kindle Formatting Services
You've finished your book, and it's ready for publication. Congratulations! Finishing a book is a major accomplishment. If your manuscript has been polished and edited, you're ready to publish! The next step is formatting.
I've formatted all of the books I've self-published, and I've also done formatting for many other authors. Formatting a Kindle book seems simple, but in order to create a very professional-looking ebook, all previous formatting needs to be removed so that the final Kindle book is easily readable. Amazon has certain requirements that ensure your ebook will look its best.
Formatting a print book requires knowledge of headers, footers, section breaks, creating a Table of Contents, and more. A print book must be structured exactly the way you want the final book to appear, including size, margins, page numbers, title and copyright page, and number of pages, especially if you want each new chapter to begin on a right-hand page.
You've put so much work into creating your book that it's essential to present it professionally when you publish. Let my knowledge help you take the next step of formatting your books.

"I have used Katherine Mayfield's editing services for two of my novels, and have been thrilled with the results. A writer herself, she's professional, insightful, and thorough, with a fierce attention to detail that never sacrifices an author's personal writing style. The very best in the game!"
—Darcy Scott, author of Hunter Huntress, the award-winning Matinicus—An Island Mystery, and the critically acclaimed Reese's Leap
“We'd like to offer high praise for Katherine’s skills as a developmental editor! After staring at our pieces (which we had simply alphabetized by topic) for so long, we couldn't find logical groupings to structure our book. Katherine's fresh eyes and critical brain expertly crafted the perfect framework to reposition the topics in a reader-friendly fashion. My greatest fear in hiring an editor was that her polish would alter the true voice, but Katherine's edits beautifully maintained our rhythm and tone. My only regret is that we didn't hire her a year earlier!”
—Jill Grimes, MD, family physician and co-author with Bishop John McCarthy of Off the Cuff and Over the Collar
”Each comment I received from Katherine on my manuscript briefly told me not just the “what” but the why. Working with her is like having an extra pair of your own hands. She turns work around fast, and it comes back clean. I supplied her with hundreds of typos and oversights, and her corrections and suggestions were consistently on the mark. Her eye for the missing comma did not stop her from reading my content as well, and I emerged from our work feeling heard and understood as a writer.”
—Karl Saliter, circus performer and author of The Unicycle Diaries
"Katherine, who has edited three of my works, has the ability to zero in on precisely what is wrong with a novel and articulate in clear, concise and simple language how to make it publishable and compelling. She is honest and she is easy to work with."—Vicki Salloum, author of Waiting for You at Midnight
